  2. Prepare the chestnuts and dates: Cook the chestnuts and dates with 1 cup of sugar and water until they are tender and glossy.
  3. Combine ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the steamed glutinous rice, cooked chestnuts and dates, pine nuts, remaining sugar, soy sauce, cinnamon, sesame oil, and cooking oil. Mix well.
  4. Steam the mixture: Place the mixture in a steamer and steam until the flavors are well combined and the dish is heated through.

Yaksik is typically served warm. It can be enjoyed on its own or paired with other dishes, such as kimchi and soups.
