Paraemuchim is a refreshing and healthy Korean side dish made with seasoned seaweed. It’s a simple yet flavorful dish that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch laver (seaweed)
  • 1/4 of a radish
  • 1/4 of an onion
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Toasted sesame seeds, to taste
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the laver: Rinse the laver thoroughly under running water and squeeze out any excess moisture.
  2. Prep the vegetables: Shred the radish and onion into thin strips.
  3. Make the seasoning: In a small bowl, combine the red pepper flakes, vinegar, sugar, minced garlic, sesame oil, and salt. Mix well to form a sauce.
  4. Combine: In a large bowl, combine the prepared laver, radish, and onion. Pour the seasoning over the vegetables and mix thoroughly until evenly coated.

Tips:

  • For a crispier radish: Soak the shredded radish in cold water for 10 minutes before adding it to the salad.
  • Adjust the spiciness: If you prefer a milder flavor, reduce the amount of red pepper flakes.
  • Add more vegetables: For added texture and flavor, try adding other vegetables such as cucumber, carrots, or bell peppers.
