Haemul-pajeon is a popular Korean dish that combines the flavors of seafood and green onions in a crispy, savory pancake. It’s perfect for a hearty meal or a delicious appetizer.

Ingredients:

  • Squid: 1
  • Shrimp: 200g
  • Fish cake: 3 pieces
  • Pork: 50g
  • Cabbage: 1/3 head
  • Potato: 2
  • Red bell pepper: 2
  • Green onions: 10
  • Eggs: 5
  • Salt, pepper, cooking oil, tomato ketchup

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the seafood: Clean the squid, remove the skin, and cut into 3cm pieces. Peel and devein the shrimp, then rinse with salted water and drain.
  2. Prepare the other ingredients: Slice the fish cake into 3mm thick rounds. Slice the pork thinly. Shred the cabbage, grate the potato, and thinly slice the red bell pepper. Chop the green onions.
  3. Make the batter: In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, flour, and water until smooth. Stir in the grated potato and shredded cabbage.
  4. Cook the pancakes: Heat plenty of oil in a frying pan. Pour a ladleful of batter into the pan and spread it out into a circle. Top with squid, shrimp, fish cake, pork, red bell pepper, green onions, and a cracked egg. Cook until golden brown on both sides.
  5. Serve: Serve immediately with tomato ketchup.

Note: You can adjust the amount of ingredients and add other vegetables or seafood according to your preference. For a spicier flavor, you can add chili peppers or gochujang (Korean red pepper paste) to the batter.

  1. Julienned, tender young green onion stems folded into a flour batter with squid, clam meat, and oysters and pan-fried. Served with a soy vinaigrette dipping sauce.

  3. 面糊中加入小葱段、鱿鱼、虾、蛤蜊肉、牡蛎等煎制。沾着加醋的酱汁吃。

  4. 在麵糊上整齊的放上細蔥後,在其上面放上鱿魚、蝦、牡蠣等各種海鮮之後煎製而成。
