Instructions:

- Cut the deodeok in half lengthwise and flatten it by gently pounding with a meat mallet.
- Marinate the deodeok:
- Mix the soy sauce and sesame oil to make the marinade.
- Brush the marinade evenly over the flattened deodeok.
- Grill the deodeok:
- Grill the marinated deodeok over medium heat until slightly cooked.
- Apply gochujang sauce:
- Mix all the ingredients for the gochujang sauce.
- Brush the gochujang sauce generously over the partially grilled deodeok.
- Finish grilling:
- Continue grilling over medium heat until the sauce is caramelized and the deodeok is tender.
Tips:
- For a spicier flavor, add more gochujang or a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- To enhance the sweetness, you can add a bit of honey or fruit juice to the sauce.
- Serve the grilled deodeok as a side dish or as part of a Korean barbecue.
