Gyeran-Jang-jorim || Eggs in Soy sauce, Eggs in soy broth, 계란장조림 2

Gyeran-jangjorim, also known as Korean braised eggs, is a popular side dish in Korean cuisine. It is made with hard-boiled eggs that are simmered in a sweet and savory soy sauce broth. The eggs are typically served cold or at room temperature, and they can be enjoyed on their own or as part of a larger meal.

There are many different recipes for gyeran-jangjorim, but they all generally include the same basic ingredients:

  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • Soy sauce
  • Sugar
  • Water
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Onion (optional)
  • Pepper

To make gyeran-jangjorim, start by hard-boiling the eggs until they are cooked through. Then, peel the eggs and place them in a saucepan with the soy sauce, sugar, water, garlic, ginger, and onion (if using). Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the eggs are evenly colored.

Once the eggs are cooked, remove them from the saucepan and let them cool completely. Then, peel the eggs again and cut them into wedges. Serve the eggs with the remaining soy sauce broth, or store them in the refrigerator for up to a week.
